How We Price We use the per-transcription-hour method. And we've been using it for over 20 years. It's not the roll-of-the-dice you've been led to believe it is. After all, per-page pricing sounds set in stone but you may get humungous margins and double spacing. And per-audio-hour also sounds guaranteed until you find it sorted into audio types - A, B and C with concomitantly rising rates - and you don't know where your tapes will fall until they're being worked on. Sometimes you're even charged for sending bad tapes. We, on the other hand, give it our best shot before advising you that they're not transcribable. No charge. And we don't charge for "additional" speakers in your groups either. When you call with your project, we give you an estimate range and that's where your costs will fall. Period. If we run into something unforeseen, we'll contact you, before any money is spent. Our transcribers are professionals; no one is dragging their fingers, running up your tab.
